Columbia Women's Wrestling is a nationally competitive program with elite coaching. We train 35 athletes 4–6 days a week under Head Coach Maya Letona, a U.S. Senior National Team member and Olympic Trials competitor. We compete on a schedule that mirrors the NCAA D1 requirement, and have already put athletes on Olympic Trials mats and age group national teams, all while earning degrees from one of the best universities in the world. The infrastructure, the roster depth, the recruiting pipeline. In the 2027-2028 season, Columbia Women's Wrestling becomes a NCAA Division I program.
There are six Division I women's wrestling programs in the country. None are at a top-25 university. Founded in 2020, Columbia Women's Wrestling is about to change that.
In 2024, Columbia was the only non-varsity program among 20 collegiate teams with athletes at the U.S. Olympic Trials. In 2027, Columbia Women's Wrestling becomes the first varsity program at a top-25 university in the country.
